Mi Smart Water Purifier can be controlled using the Mi Home app.

It will be available in India starting September 29.

At the Smarter Living event today Xiaomi brings a new product category in India with the launch of the Mi Smart Water Purifier. Previously we have seen Xiaomi bringing Air purifiers in India but this is for the first time that the company has launched a water purifier in the country. The Mi Smart Water Purifier launches in India with a price of Rs 11,999.



The biggest highlight of the Mi Smart Water Purifier is that it's a smart water purifier, which is rare to find in the Indian market right now. The Mi Smart Water Purifier can be controlled and monitored with the help of Mi Home application that is available for download on both Android and iPhone.



With the help of the Mi Home app users will be able to view the level of water in the tank, TDS level of the water and also life of each filter in real-time. The application also informs the users when to replace filters.



The interesting bit is in the Mi Smart Water Purifier the users will be able to replace the filters themselves. Xiaomi refers the Mi Smart Water Purifier as "India's first smart water purifier with DIY filter replacement." Xiaomi claims that users will be able to replace old filters with the new one in just 30 seconds. This Xiaomi says, "allows users to not be bound by any kind of fixed annual maintenance."



The Mi Smart Water Purifier comes with three filters. In step one + two the PP+Activated Carbon filter intercepts large and visible particles along with residual chlorine, colour and odour. In the third step, the RO filter filters out heavy metals, scales, and organic matter with a filtration precision of 0.0001 micron. In the fourth step the PAC filter absorbs the remaining ordour and organic substances, effectively improving the taste of the water. And lastly in the fifth step the in-tank UV light kills bacteria and viruses with up to 99.99 per cent efficiency.



The Mi Smart Water Purifier will be available in India starting September 29 via Mi.com, Flipkart and Mi Home stores. The Mi Smart Water Purifier launches in India with a price of Rs 11,999.
